Almost 2 weeks ago, we had the opportunity to spend some time with First Lady Serita Jakes during the International Leadership Summit here in #Charlotte. It was wild because even though I didnāt get a chance to go to the conference, I had just as much of an impactful experience! From accidentally sitting beside her in a closed meeting (and not knowing it š¤š) to actually having the honor of doing a #HopeVibes #ServeDay with Lady Serita and some of her team, I was so inspired.
When you think of people whoās impact literally spans the globe, you anticipate a larger than life personality. Lady Serita was āregularā though. She was touchable. She was kind. She was compassionate. She was human. And THAT blessed me tremendously. She served our neighbors. Hugged them. Listened to them. Prayed for them. Laughed with them. Cried with them. Her notoriety didnāt restrict her ability to engage and it was so beautiful to see. My favorite moment was when she asked one of our neighbors experiencing #homelessness to pray for her. We were all out there crying lol.
Iām excited about the possibilities of partnership. I mean the #HopeTank in Dallas, TX would be #SuperDopeš„! But regardless of what the future holds, I appreciate the moment in time to learn, to grow, to inspire and be inspired!
But no seriously. One day there will be at least one Hope Tank and one #HopeStead Community in EVERY state! Just watch and see šš½šš½šš½
